Patrick Wilson Obituary

Patrick L. Wilson of Redway died on May 20, 2020. He was affectionately known as “Sweet Pea” by some. Patrick was born in Cumberland, Maryland, on January 17,1946, where he was surrounded by his Sicilian relatives. His family moved to Ohio where he graduated from Kent State, 1968, during the summer of protests and deaths of four students by the National Guard. He earned a degree in art.

Patrick is survived by his sister Debbie Burney, brother Denny, nephew Shawn Burney and his wife Stacy, grand nieces Ena, Madelyn, and grand nephew Noah. His Aunt Celeste lives in Arizona.

He moved to Minneapolis after meeting and becoming a partner with Jem Webb. Patrick eventually ended up in Humboldt, after Jem had moved here. He bought property in Redway while working at the Cliff House in San Francisco. He finally made the move after the Loma Linda earthquake in the late 80’s. Jem Webb moved his model pyramid house onto Patrick’s property, which over the years has been expanded.

[Patrick Wilson]

Patrick was an artist, cartoonist and designer. He loved gardening, dogs, cats and parakeets!

Patrick met his partner of many years, Christopher Maynard in the early 90’s. Christopher has long since passed.

Michael Stephens moved in with Patrick in 2013, and is caring for his memory, with love.

Beth Wells, Melody and the Heart of the Redwoods Community Hospice staff, all gave such incredible support.

His sweet and charming self will be missed. Patrick ended his days at home, a blessing.

Death a sigh, breathing life into the forever after.
