Jeffrey Hamilton

February 27, 1968 ~ October 3, 2020 (age 52)

Jeff “Hammer” Hamilton passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on the night of Oct. 3rd at the age of 52  He leaves behind a loving wife, Jeanna (Sparky), his son Nick and family and step-son Nate.  Jeff was preceded in death by his son Braxton (20) in 2011 and Josh (31) in 2018. Jeff is also survived by many more, his grandchildren who lovingly called him Poppa, a couple special men called him,  he also had numerous brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews (some related by blood, some by choice) who called him Uncle Hammer, close friends of the kids called him Pops, many he rode with also called him Brother and to many more he was called a true and loyal friend.  With Hammer, you didn’t have to share blood to be family.

Jeff grew up attending local schools, playing sports (he loved baseball), hunting, fishing, playing music and generally causing mischief.  He had deep familial roots in the community and could trace back several generations of Hamiltons in Humboldt.

Our Hammer was a big man with a bigger heart!  He loved fiercely and was devoted to and proud of his family (all he considered family).  He was the guy to call if you needed help, and you knew with him on your side, things would turn out all right.  He believed in justice over law and was a champion of the underdog.  Even from a young age, he stood up for those being picked on and kept others from being taken advantage of.

Hammer was part wild-man.  He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and of course, riding his Harley.  He was a master electrician and made many positive connections.  He could tell fabulous and crazy stories and could strike up a conversation with anyone.  He enjoyed a good party, great food, good music and good company.  Although his life was cut short, he knew how to live and how to love.  If you were blessed to be among those he loved your life was richer for it.  He will be truly missed by many.

As his passing was so sudden and unexpected there were no arrangements or insurance in place.  Jeff’s family would appreciate your help with his final arrangements and adjusting to both his loss and the loss of income (especially as his wife suffers with congestive heart failure and thyroid disorders).  Thank you for reading and sharing Jeff’s story.
