Janette Maxine Latham

Mrs. Jeanette Maxine (Conry) Latham passed away suddenly at age 59 on November 13, 2018. She was born on September 25, 1959, in Eureka to Alene Mabel Beers and the late Leonard LeRoy Michael Conry.

Jeanette graduated from College of the Redwoods in 1995 with her Associate’s Degree in Legal Assistance and worked as a paralegal for her father while he served Humboldt County as the District Attorney. Jeanette was the beloved wife of the late RobRoy Latham, Sr. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Conry; grandchild, Lucille Latham; brothers-in-law, Tim Melendy and Lester Latham; and sisters-in-law, Sandra Kyle, Brenda Latham, and Marla Conry; and far too many treasured nieces and nephews to list. Jeanette is survived by her son, RobRoy Latham, Jr; daughter, Genevieve Marie (Bessert) Kopping; brothers, Mark Conry and Patrick Conry; sisters, Kathleen Conry-Thompson, Shan Conry, and Mary Conry; brothers-in-law, Mike Melendy, Pat Melendy, Jamie Melendy, and Kevin Latham; sisters-in-law, Deanna Beck-Conry, Erin Conry, Wanda Latham, Dierdre Melendy, Katie Melendy, Mary Melendy, and Rollie Melendy; grandchildren, Dawn Latham, Kimora Latham, Albert Kopping, Aileen Kopping, Susan Kopping, and Lauren Kopping; and dear friends, Richard Stone and Joanne Nord. She also leaves behind her devoted dog, Ozzie.

Jeanette’s hobbies included reading, drawing, painting, gardening, shopping, and spending time with close friends. Jeanette was known for her wit, wisdom, and great passion in life. She had a smile that would light up a room. She brought joy to the lives of many through her loyalty, service, genuine affection, and friendship.

Friends and family members may attend the memorial service, officiated by Bishop Robert Witte, on Saturday, November 24 from 12 to 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2806 Dolbeer Street, Eureka. Cremation services will be handled by Humboldt Cremation and Funeral Service, 1500 4th Street, Eureka, 707-443-1104. Her ashes will be laid to rest in Hoopa, beside her long-departed husband, RobRoy Latham, Sr.
