Robert Lee Spaletta

"My Obit" I was born June 2, 1934 in Arcata, CA. son of Joe and Anne Spaletta. I have two sisters: Betty, Arkansas, Mary Lou, California; twin brother Bill, California. I graduated from Arcata High School, class of 1952. Joined the Marines in 1953 for 3 years, where I went on vacation for one year in Korea. After returning home I married THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, Arlene Ayer of Blue Lake, CA. We had three children: Cindy Knight (Randy) Blue Lake, Rhonda Vogel (Randy) Santa Rosa, Bob Spaletta Jr (Mary Ann) Los Gatos; seven grandchildren: Randy, Jewel, Andrew, Josh, Adam, Tyler and Linsey Jo; and four great grandchildren: Kadence, Sam, Cooper and Hunter.

I spent almost 38 years at Simpson Timber Company in Korbel being a supervisor. I was a member of KVFD acting many years as Chief. Before I retired, good friends Joyce and Regan Hyuck showed Arlene and I a little about golf. We were hooked! I walked 263 rounds the first year, then we bought a golf cart. I had 4 "Holes in One" at Beau Pre Golf Course. I enjoyed many rounds of golf with our friends: Tom and Dorthy - Gary and Caroline - Don and Barbara - Lars and Paula - Ed - Jim and Jim, and Jerry. At age 64 I had heart problems and had to quit smoking. Arlene and I quit "Cold Turkey"!!!! After heart problems I was diagnosed with prostrate cancer and then bone cancer. My nick name was "Spaghet", but after my second round with cancer I changed it to "Chemo Sabbi"!! Arlene and I have enjoyed the local casinos for many years- the Food, the Gaming and the Friendships!

There will be no services, I was cremated and interment of ashes will be at Ocean View Cemetery. THE END, "Bob" The Family would like to thank Hospice, a special thank you to Molly.
