Denise "Kay" Vega Sanchez

Denise Kay Vega Sanchez, known as Kay by her loved ones, passed away unexpectedly on November 19, 2016 at the age of 62. She was born to Joe & Raenelle Fowler on November 8, 1954 in Oakland, CA. Her family moved to Humboldt County permanently when she was 16 years old. She was always caring for people in her jobs and in her personal life. She enjoyed reading, traveling, taking care of her family, keeping a spotless clean house, and above all her joy in life came from her many grandchildren. She always looked forward to seeing her hairdressers Allana Miller and Melissa Greenfield to get her hair done and get dressed up. Her sense of humor could brighten the darkest of days. Kay is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 41 years Pedro Vega Sanchez Sr., her five kids and their spouses: Bob and Kristin Carpenter, Tina and Rich Vitale, Pedro and Sunntah Martinez Vega, Shaun and Angela Vega Sanchez, and Travis and Rebecca Vega, her 12 grandchildren: Hunter, Alaina, Baylee, and Brody Carpenter, Taylor, Vincent, and Lauryn Vitale, Isabelle Martinez-Vega, Courtney, Benjamin, and Gabriella Vega Sanchez, and Kahleal Vega. She is also survived by her 5 siblings: Joe Fowler, Jonelle Fowler, Martha Stephan, Cindy Gilbertson, Candy Kahoalii, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe & Raenelle Fowler. She was loved and adored by many. There will forever be a void in our hearts that only she could fil
